Fruit Fly Eliminator (you may not have tried this yet)
Those annoying fruit flies! They seem to come from nowhere this time of year. I use the quick and easy fruit fly elimination tool, otherwise known as the vacuum cleaner. It’s true. I set my vacuum cleaner up in the kitchen for a few days every Fall. I gently shake that bowl of produce on the counter or nudge that piece of fruit and use the hose attachment to make them disappear. If some get away, don’t worry, they will hang out on a cabinet or wall, just keep looking. You might have tried apple cider vinegar or red wine in a bowl and those methods work, just not as fast. Fruit flies actually only drown in something you were about to drink! You can still use the bowl with the vinegar or red wine to draw them to a different place in your home where you can vacuum them.
Being a food contamination phobic I might also add that you can use a sanitizing wipe or other method to wipe down the nozzle of the vacuum hose before you go waving it all around your kitchen. After all, that nozzle has probably been in some pretty dirty places. While you have the vacuum out and handy, you might also vacuum the crumbs from the toaster (what is that burning toast smell?) and vacuum the chunks of fur falling off the geriatric dog this time of year.
